Training on capacity strengthening for Oxfam Solidarity Belgium and partners

Year: 2014 | Topic: Capacity building

Description

The strategic plan of Oxfam Solidarity 2014-2016 is aimed at strengthening the capacity of its partners based on the model of the ' 5 Core Capabilities ', a model that allows to support endogenous processes of capacity strengthening in an integrated manner. A three-day training was developed for staff from Oxfam Solidarity and its partners. During the training the model of the ' 5 Core Capabilities' was explained. The participants were then invited to examine how this model could improve the current work of organisational development. The experience of the staff and partners formed the starting point. The methodology of the training was based on the principles of experiental learning, and offered a combination of creative exercises, plenary sessions, mini- lectures, mind mapping, discussion, and analysis of practice. The training was given in five countries: Burkina Faso, El Salvador, Mozambique, Cambodia, and DR Congo .
